Fred Joyal: Dentures are worn when you have missing teeth. They can be partial dentures where you may have a few teeth missing and they will be attached to your existing teeth or full dentures where there are no teeth on the upper or lower areas.
They can vary in cost. And unfortunately with dentures you get what you pay for, but you can get a custom fit on them; they will take getting used to, but if there is a degree of soreness after a few weeks - you should be seeing your dentist.
There are alternatives to dentures; such as dental implants - which are permanent. But most of the time dentures are a good solution to no teeth at all.
What you will experience even with dentures is that you will gradually lose some of the bone tissue in your mouth and you will need to change denture size and shape over the years.
