One of the UDM School of Dentistry core values is life-long learning. UDM plans evidence-based, clinically relevant continuing dental education courses for dental health professionals. Courses expose participants to new dental products, technology, materials and available to improve patient care.
UDM School of Dentistry is also actively engaged in dental research, working closely with dental companies to develop and evaluate new materials and devices.
Patient Care
The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry provides comprehensive patient care for free or very low cost to the Detroit community, particularly the underserved and the elderly. UDM School of Dentistry provides dental care at two different locations: on the UDM campus and at the University Health Center. The UDM School of Dentistry's hospital-based clinic is actually the largest of any dental school in the United States and provides fourth-year dental students with a unique opportunity to work with medically compromised patients.
Specialty care available through the UDM dental clinics include endodontics (root canal therapy), orthodontics, pediatric dentist care and oral surgery for wisdom teeth removal.
