Tri-County Dental Society

The Tri-County Dental Society (TCDS) is a component of both the California Dental Association (CDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA) and, as such, conforms to both those organizations' criteria of high ethics and professionalism in the dentistry field. Based in Colton, California, the TCDS serves Southern California's San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, along with the eastern portion of Los Angeles County.

The TCDS offers a full range of seminars and courses designed to enrich the learning opportunities of its members. Topics ranging from preventive dentistry and diagnostic care to dental surgery techniques and cosmetic dentistry procedures are sure to cater to the wide field of dental disciplines represented in the TCDS roster.

TCDS members also benefit from the fellow support and expertise of the Society's extensive network of dental professionals. And because the TCDS is a component of the CDA and the ADA, its members also enjoy full access to the resources, publications and programs offered by those larger organizations.

The TCDS participates in various charitable activities, including dental screenings, volunteer clinics and educational presentations. In addition, TCDS also contributes to local and nationwide efforts that serve low-income communities and raise oral health awareness. The Society is an annual participant in the ADA's Give Kids a Smile campaign, which provides free dental care to children from low-income families over one day during each February's National Children's Dental Health Month.

The TCDS also takes part in Donated Dental Services (DDS), a joint program of the CDA and the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Dental professionals participating in the DDS program volunteer one or two dental treatment plans to an often overlooked, at-risk population of elderly individuals who cannot afford treatment or do not qualify for government sponsored dental programs. A DDS coordinator is responsible for determining eligibility of applicants, linking patients with nearby volunteer dentists, monitoring each patient's progress through their treatment plan and coordinating dental specialist and laboratory services. Patient acceptance and treatment options are at the discretion of each volunteer.
