Fluoridated water
Children who drink fluoridated water from birth can have up to 65% fewer cavities. If your community’s water supply isn’t fluoridated, talk to your dentist about fluoridated tablets or in-office fluoride treatments.
Infant dental care
Use a damp washcloth or piece of gauze to clean your infant’s teeth and gums after every feeding. Periodic cleanings can help prevent tooth decay.
The sealing effect
Molar teeth are especially vulnerable to decay. When your child’s first molars erupt, dental sealants can offer extra protection.
